Now both my Pro and Air have data from each other. I tried to erase several other external hard drives to do the bask-up and they would either not mount or not be recognized. However, my Pro no longer recognized my external hard drive and it would not mount. I was instructed to backup my Pro before I erase the internal hard drive. I read online that I needed to upgrade to Big Sur to transfer data from my Pro to my Air. I slowly began to rebuild access to the websites. I deleted LassPass and installed Dashlane. In addition about 2 months ago I realized that for some unknown reason (maybe I was hacked separately?) all the passwords in my password manager, LassPass, had changed without my permission. It deleted multiple important data files. About 4 months ago I used Clean My Mac on the MacBook Pro. I appreciate if anyone can help me to solve this problem.Īnd I dont want to try some other shareware or whatever unsure softwares for locking - unlocking other than WD’s product.Multiple serious problems with the two laptops I use for my medical practice.

The data I will keep shall be secure and shall not be able to be used by 3rd parties freely if taken or stolen just in case. If I cannot install Smartware on my new HDD or use lock-unlock function of that software properly, this HDD is no use for me. I saw similar questions in the forum but what I need is only lock-unlock function to be working properly on my new HDD. Smartware software is installed on my laptop and I tried to install lock-unlock function to new HDD but it doesnt recognize new HDD as External HDD. I didnt realize that when I was buying because long time ago I bought 500 GB WD HDD and it already included software (and I can use lock-unlock function without problem). However, no software was installed on the HDD. I just bought a 1 TB WD External Drive (WD Elements SE 1 TB) to use for backing up business-related data and I need to use Lock-Unlock function (coming with WD Smartware I think)
